Designing an exquisite residence without much superficial ornaments but in return giving back the much needed design elements as a quality architecture is the biggest pleasure of design. The lantern Bangsar, is such a kind of architecture, blending timeless elegance with modern sophistication. I called it Quiet Luxury Residence. This residence is more than just living space—they are personal retreats, designed to offer comfort and Bangsar’s upscale lifestyle. From open-concept layout and quality finishes to large windows showcasing stunning views, every detail has been meticulously designed to provide an oasis of tranquility and refinement.
- Aesthetics with Emotional Impact
The Lantern Bangsar, a point block building with a lantern-like mesh structure complements the top of the tower, stands out as a beacon of the city in the stillness of the night, making it a unique residential skyscraper unlike any other.
The design of the car park podium is inspired by a grid-based box structure and is enhanced with careful planting practices that create a lush green backdrop, seamlessly blending with the surrounding environment. Additionally, the protruding staircases offer a welcome respite from the daily hustle.
The entrance of Lantern Bangsar, designed with a welcome water feature, creates a soothing atmosphere with its rippling effect, which captures the essence of the showcase wall to form a fascinating statement.
As you approach the drop-off area, you are greeted by a striking ceiling design with a generous height of approximately 10 meters. This impressive vertical space is accentuated by framed vertical aluminum strip on the walls, creating a majestic and welcoming ambiance. Upon entering the lobby on the ground floor, you'll encounter intricate filigree structures that evoke the elegance of a lantern, adding a touch of refined sophistication to the space.
- Functionality and Practicality
All units at Lantern Bangsar feature an open space plan that merges the kitchen and living areas. Our intention is to create a sense of openness and flow, which enhances social interaction and offers greater flexibility in space usage. The living area, a generous width of 3.3 meters, feels both spacious and inviting, adding to the overall cozy atmosphere.
There is a careful thought out on planning mechanical risers so that they do not take valuable space in the units especially bathroom and it is equipped with sanitary ware from Villeroy & Boch, a renowned German brand with a history spanning 270 years. It includes a shower niche and a vanity ledge, which add a touch of style, enhance organization, maximize space usage, and contribute to the overall design appeal.
- Natural Lighting and Ventilation
Most of the units are designed to evoke a Semi-detached feel in the sky, with the goal of optimizing ventilation. Every room features operable windows that connect to the outside world to promote natural airflow and reduce indoor pollutants. Additionally, the living area includes a large 8-foot-high window to maximize natural light, which decreases the need for artificial lighting and significantly improves the overall ambiance of the space. This design also allows residents to enjoy panoramic views right from their windows. As all of these windows are laminated safety glass, which can block up to 97% of UV radiation and unwanted heat to regulate your home’s temperature to improve energy efficiency, leading to reduced utility costs and a smaller environmental footprint.
- Sustainability and Efficiency
In common area design, a well-considered but non-excessive facilities are provided for the benefit of the residents so no overburden maintenance later on. We collaborate with landscape consultant, Praxcis Design, to promote both organic and natural environment, contributing to a reduced carbon footprint for the building. The ground floor features a blend of trees ranging from 3 to 6 meters in height, which integrate seamlessly with the building’s green wall. Above the podium, on level 9, a woodland-like environment is created through carefully selected trees and plants. The intent is to soothe the dwellers in Bangsar’s privileged enclave in such a bustling KL city.
To achieve sustainability, the Lantern Bangsar features a rainwater harvesting system that collects and utilizes rainwater for landscape irrigation and general cleaning. This system helps to reduce water demand, lower utility bills, and minimize the impact on municipal water supplies.
Additionally, LEDs light will be installed in the common areas to enhance energy efficiency. Studies show that LEDs light are up to 80% more efficient compared to fluorescent bulbs. Unlike fluorescent lights, LED lights convert 95% of their energy into light and only 5% is wasted as heat. They also have aimpressive lifespan ranging from 50,000 to over 100,000 hours and are free from harmful chemicals such as mercury.
With the Developer’s emphasis on quality, we are exciting to see the coming iconic tower to shine up the Bangsar’s pride again!
